Keep Baker Beautiful Day at Sam A. Baker State Park April 26

Jefferson City, Mo. - The public is invited to spend the day outdoors and help one of Missouri's scenic state parks at the Keep Baker Beautiful Day on April 26 at Sam A. Baker State Park near Patterson. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the 22nd annual event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Keep Baker Beautiful Day recognizes both Earth Day and Missouri Beautification Month. There will be assignments for all ages, which include planting, trail care and park cleanup. Volunteers are asked to register in advance and will meet at the park's visitor center beginning at 8:30 a.m. for project assignments. Participants are encouraged to bring a pair of work gloves and drinking water and wear closed-toed shoes. Volunteers will receive a picnic lunch and a commemorative keepsake for participating. In case of severe or inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.
