Bison Hike scheduled at Prairie State Park May 18

Jefferson City, Mo. - In celebration of National Kids to Parks Day, a park naturalist will be leading a guided Bison Hike at Prairie State Park on Saturday, May 18. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event will begin at 10 a.m. and be followed by family-friendly activities.
Visitors will have the opportunity to take a trip back in time and see one of the most magnificent mammals on its native prairie habitat. A park naturalist will discuss bison biology, Native American uses, herd dynamics and prairies. Participants are encouraged to come prepared for the weather and bring water, insect repellent and sturdy shoes. At 1 p.m., the park will have crafts and games for kids.
