Jefferson City, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded Camden County Public Water Supply District No.1 a $95,418 small borrower loan to make necessary drinking water improvements. The water district will use the funds to replace existing water meters with new radio-read meters, install lock valves, upgrade software and install a meter reading system.
The interest rate on the loan is approximately 1.22 percent, which is substantially below current market conditions. The project is estimated to cost $95,418 and is expected to be completed by July 2013. This small borrower loan will be financed by repayments of loans made from Water Pollution Control bonds.
The Department of Natural Resources’ Water Protection Program will administer the loan funds. The department is committed to working closely with communities to assist with funding efforts that support water and wastewater infrastructure improvement projects as well as provide a financial savings.
