Jefferson City, Mo. - Young historians are invited to the Hands on History Adventure Day Camp at the First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site on June 17-21. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the Hands on History Adventure Day Camp is a week-long opportunity for burgeoning historians to learn about Missouri history and 1800s skills and crafts using an interactive, hands-on approach.
Each day of the camp will be filled with fun games, activities and crafts revolving around the 1800s time period. Activities include butter churning, rope making, candle dipping, campfire cooking and archery. Participants will also learn to build a log cabin, make paddle boats, barter and navigate with a map and compass.
