Experience Christmas on the Farm at Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and Historic Site Dec. 6

Jefferson City, Mo. - The public is invited to enjoy Christmas on the Farm at Watkins Mill State Historic Site in Lawson on Saturday, Dec. 6. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event will be held 2-7 p.m.

Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the holiday season, with tours of the Watkins home by lamplight. The home will be decorated in a style popular to the 1870s. As visitors tour the house, they will be able to sing Christmas carols in the family parlor, visit with Father Christmas in the reading room and sample original recipe Christmas cookies, wassail and other traditional treats. A “Lighting of the Plum Pudding” ceremony will be held four times throughout the evening. A kid’s craft room and live traditional Christmas music will be offered at the visitor center. Admission to the event is free.
