JEFFERSON CITY, MO, NOV. 9, 2004 - Take advantage of the opportunity to view bald eagles as they come in to roost at Roaring River State Park near Cassville. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the park will host the first of three eagle-viewing events on Nov. 20. The programs are free and open to the public.

Join a park naturalist at the park's nature center at 3 p.m. for a short video on eagles. Following the video, visitors will go outside to watch as the eagles fly into the park to roost for the evening. Some spotting scopes and binoculars will be available, but guests are encouraged to bring their own binoculars. Dress appropriately for the weather.

If you can't attend this event, the park is hosting two additional events for eagle viewing on Dec. 18 and Jan. 15.

Roaring River State Park is located seven miles south of Cassville on Highway 112 in Barry County. For more information about the event, contact the park naturalist at 417-847-3742 or the Department of Natural Resources toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
