JEFFERSON CITY, MO, NOV. 15, 2004 -- The Missouri Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Commission will meet Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Missouri Department of Conservation's Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City. The meeting will begin at 9:15 a.m. at the center, which is located off Highway 179.
The commission was established to coordinate activities to commemorate the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, which began in 1804. Commission members will receive a list of recommended projects for the Missouri Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Legacies Recognition Program. This program was established to recognize Lewis and Clark related projects that have a long-lasting impact on Missouri. Also on the agenda will be a discussion of activities in 2005, and strategies for ensuring that resources are available for needs in 2006.
