JEFFERSON CITY, MO, SEPT. 20, 2005 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting Saturday, Oct. 1, at Lake Wappapello State Park near Williamsville. The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Shelter #1 in the park and the public is invited.
Staff from the park will be on hand to provide information about future plans for the park. An open house will be held between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. followed by a formal meeting, which will include a question-and-answer session. The public is invited to comment on the park and its operations. Attendees will have the opportunity to view a short video on Missouri state parks and pick up park literature. Refreshments will be served.
The meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on the services provided in state parks and historic sites.
Lake Wappapello State Park is located 16 miles north of Poplar Bluff on U.S. Highway 67 and eight miles east on Highway 172 in Wayne County.
