JEFFERSON CITY, MO, SEPT. 23, 2005 -- The City of Rich Hill has received a low-interest loan of $763,804 from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to extend funding for improvements to the city's wastewater treatment plant. The city will use the proceeds to extend an existing loan made in 2001. The new loan allows the city an additional 16.5 years to pay off the wastewater treatment plant improvements.

Funding for the loan comes from the State Revolving Fund Loan Program. The State Revolving Fund is a federally subsidized, low-interest, leveraged-loan program that provides cost effective financing for wastewater treatment and collection. The interest rate on the loan will be 1.6 percent, which is substantially below current market conditions, a savings of approximately $200,000.

The loan will be administered by the Department of Natural Resources' Water Protection Program. For more information, contact Mark Buersmeyer at 800-361-4827 or 573-751-2408.
