JEFFERSON CITY, MO, SEPT. 29, 2005 -- The Missouri State Park Advisory Board will meet Friday, Oct. 7 at Stoney Creek Inn in St. Joseph. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the inn, located at 1201 N. Woodbine Road and the public is invited to attend.

The board, which was appointed by the governor to advise the Missouri Department of Natural Resources on issues relating to state parks, will receive updates on the division's budget and legislative issues. Discussion items will include the lease amendment for the Lee C. Fine Airport in Lake of the Ozarks State Park, an update on the status of displaying flags at historic sites, a proposal for concession fee increases, and assistance being offered to evacuees of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita. Reports will be given on the Missouri State Park Foundation, the Missouri Parks Association, and citizen efforts to renew the parks-and-soils sales tax.
