JEFFERSON CITY, MO, OCT. 24, 2005 -- The Missouri Clean Water Commission will hold a public meeting at 9 a.m., Nov. 2 at the Lewis and Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Dr., in Jefferson City.

The Department of Natural Resources will present to the commission draft language to use in the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) rule proposal. The commission will provide comments and direction to the CSO workgroup. If the commission concurs with the suggestions of the workgroup, the CSO workgroup will begin drafting a Regulatory Impact Report before making a formal rule proposal to the commission.

Department staff will also ask the commission to approve a recommendation regarding the fiscal year 2006 Intended Use Plan. The recommendation increases the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District's Missouri River project available funds by $14.3 million. The Intended Use Plan describes how the department will distribute money from the fund during fiscal year 2006.

The commission will also have a full agenda of administrative matters, variance requests, enforcement issues and staff updates. A complete agenda can be accessed from the department's web site at www.dnr.mo.gov/env/wpp/cwc/index.html.

There will be an opportunity for the public to approach the commission with any questions or issues related to the commission's work.
