JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JAN. 27, 2006 -- Renewable Environmental Solutions Inc. (RES) has completed its temporary restart. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ staff remained on site during the processing.

The facility began processing the poultry waste remaining in the system since before the order around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24. RES completed the temporary restart Thursday, Jan. 26. The Carthage facility was processing the waste into oil when the department ordered the facility to shut down Dec. 29.

“Considering the waste had been fermenting at the facility for almost a month, I am pleased with the results of the temporary restart,” said Department of Natural Resources Director Doyle Childers. “The department will continue to work with RES to determine if the changes do provide a satisfactory solution for the problems we have encountered with previous operations.”

The department allowed the temporary restart to clean out the tanks and pipes at the facility before the remaining poultry waste began to degrade and become septic. Since the shut down, RES completed the installation of its new odor control technology. While the focus of the temporary restart was to clean out the system, the processing allowed RES to monitor the performance of the new equipment.
