WHEN: 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7.

WHERE: Renewable Environmental Solutions facility, 530 N. Main St, Carthage. Take Highway 171 East to Main Street, turn north on Main Street to end of pavement, turn right to Renewable Environmental Solutions gate. Please park on service road and walk inside gate.

WHO: Missouri Department of Natural Resources Deputy Director of Field Services Bruce Martin; Southwest Regional Office Director Cindy Davies; Brian Appel, Chairman and CEO of Renewable Environmental Solutions; Don Sanders, Renewable Environmental Solutions Plant Manager; representatives from the City of Carthage.

WHY: The conference will give reporters additional opportunity to hear from the Department of Natural Resources on the current status of the Renewable Environmental Solutions facility in Carthage. Reporters will also have a chance to ask questions of Renewable Environmental Solutions and to view the facility.

On Dec. 29, 2005, Gov. Blunt directed the Department of Natural Resources to temporarily close the Carthage business for violating air quality rules. The Department of Natural Resources ordered Renewable Environmental Solutions to stop all odorous emissions from its operations and suspended the facility's air permit for 60 days. Since that time, the department has worked closely with Renewable Environmental Solutions to allow the facility an opportunity to continue operating its Carthage facility on a conditional basis.
