MISSOURI AIR CONSERVATION COMMISSION HOSTS
PUBLIC MEETING AND HEARING JUNE 29 IN JEFFERSON CITY

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 26, 2006 -- The Missouri Air Conservation Commission will hold a public meeting at 9 a.m. on June 29 at the Governor's Office Building, Room 450, 200 Madison St., Jefferson City.

At this meeting, the commission will hold a public hearing on an amendment 10 CSR 5.300 Control of Emissions from Solvent Metal Cleaning. This proposed rule amendment specifies equipment, operating procedures and training requirements for the reduction of volatile organic compound emissions from solvent metal cleaning operations in the St. Louis metropolitan area. This proposed rule amendment addresses industry concerns about provisions in the current rule related to enforcement and compliance.

The department requests people intending to give verbal presentations on the proposed rule amendment also provide a written copy of their testimony to the commission secretary at the time of the public hearing. The department also will accept written comments on this rulemaking until 5 p.m. on July 6.
