MISSOURI AIR CONSERVATION COMMISSION HOSTS
PUBLIC MEETING AUG. 31 IN JEFFERSON CITY

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, AUG. 25, 2006 -- The Missouri Air Conservation Commission will hold a public meeting at 9 a.m. on Aug. 31, in Room 450 of the Governor's Office Building, 200 Madison St., Jefferson City.

At this meeting, the commission will hold a public hearing on a proposed revision to the Missouri State Implementation Plan (SIP). The proposed change to the SIP will include the revised source registration permit for Grossman Iron and Steel. The proposed permit incorporates operating procedures and record keeping requirements from Grossman's compliance plan that reduces fugitive emissions from their facility.

The commission will also hear recommendations from the department for adoption of 10 CSR 10-6.345, Control of NOx Emissions from Upwind Sources; 10 CSR 10-6.070, New Source Performance Regulations; 10 CSR 10-6.075, Maximum Achievable Control Technology Regulations; 10 CSR 10-6.080, Emission Standards for Hazardous Pollutants; and 10 CSR 10-6.110, Submission of Emission Data, Emission Fees and Process Information. These actions will be voted upon once recommendations are complete.

The department requests people intending to give verbal presentations on the proposed rule amendment also provide a written copy of their testimony to the commission secretary at the time of the public hearing. The department also will accept written comments on the SIP rulemaking until 5 p.m. on Sept. 7. Rule proposals considered at this hearing may be adopted by the Missouri Air Conservation Commission as provided for under authority of 643.050, RSMo.
