SMALL BUSINESS COMPLIANCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WILL HOLD PUBLIC MEETING DEC. 6 IN JEFFERSON CITY

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, DEC. 4, 2007 – The Missouri Small Business Compliance Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6.  The committee will meet at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Air Pollution Control Program office,
1659 E. Elm St., Jefferson City.

Agenda items will include a discussion of the Small Business Fairness Board, a recap of the Commissioner’s Conference held Oct. 9 and an update on the activities of the ombudsmen. A presentation of future environmental regulations that will impact small business at the national level, time for public comment and correspondence and an update of legislation, regulations and other activities will follow.

The Small Business Compliance Advisory Committee consists of seven members who evaluate the impact of the Air Conservation Law and related rules on small business. The committee reviews and assesses the impact of enforcement policies on small business operations and recommends to the Department of Natural Resources, the Missouri Air Conservation Commission and the General Assembly changes in procedure, rule or law which would help small business comply with the Air Conservation Law. The committee also conducts hearings, determines facts and makes investigations consistent with the purposes of the small business technical assistance activity conducted under Section 643.173 (RSMo).
