SMALL BUSINESS COMPLIANCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE HOLDS PUBLIC MEETING MARCH 19 IN JEFFERSON CITY

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MARCH 13, 2008 -- The Missouri Small Business Compliance Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19.  The committee will meet at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Roaring River Conference Room,
1730 E. Elm St., Jefferson City.

Agenda items include a time for public comment and correspondence, an update on legislation, regulations and activities, a regional office update of environmental issues affecting businesses and an ombudsman update.

The Small Business Compliance Advisory Committee consists of seven members who evaluate the impact of the Air Conservation Law and related rules on small business. The committee reviews and assesses the impact of enforcement policies on small business operations and recommends to the Department of Natural Resources, the Missouri Air Conservation Commission and the General Assembly changes in procedure, rule, or law that would help small business comply with the Air Conservation Law. The committee also conducts hearings, determines facts and makes investigations consistent with the purposes of the small business technical assistance activity conducted under Section 643.173 (RSMo).
