DEPARTMENT POSTPONES MARCH 18 PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED FRED WEBER TRANSFER STATION
IN ST. LOUIS COUNTY

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MARCH 14, 2008 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is postponing a public hearing originally scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, in the Oakville High School gymnasium, 5557 Milburn Road, St. Louis.  The hearing has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. on April 10 at the same location.

The department has received an application from FW Disposal South LLC. to construct a transfer station at 5219 Baumgartner Road in St. Louis County.  The proposed transfer station will be used to receive non-hazardous solid municipal waste and will transfer the waste from small trucks onto larger vehicles that would transfer the waste to a permitted facility.

Citizens can review a copy of the proposed permit application at the Cliff Cave Branch Public Library, 5430 Telegraph Road, St. Louis.  A copy is also available upon request at the department's Solid Waste Management Program at 1730 E. Elm St. in Jefferson City.  To request a file review, citizens must first call 573-751-3043 or fax a request to Rhonda Loveall, custodian of records at
573-522-3344.
