Want to work in natural resources?The Human Resources Program provides assistance to the Division of Administrative Support and the 2,000-plus employees of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. As part of the Division of Administrative Support, our program administers the personnel policies and procedures of the Department and the State of Missouri.

Our program works to ensure that the needs of our employees -- our customers -- are met so they can take care of their customers, the citizens of Missouri.

Explanations of the the five possible Position Status’ listed in the table are:

1. Vacancy posting has ended; HR reviewing in-house candidates: The vacancy has posted in-house to DNR employees and /or letters were sent to outside candidates for 7 business days.  HR is determining eligibility on DNR employees that have requested to be considered in-house.

2.  Information has been forwarded to the Program to begin the interview process : Once Human Resources forwards the resumes on the hiring program then reviews the resumes, selects the candidates that they wish to interview, performs interviews and then decides whom they wish to hire.  The hiring program has up to 90 days to complete this process.

3.   Hiring recommendation has been received by HR and is pending approvals:  The hiring program has selected a candidate and has forwarded the information to Human Resources. Human Resources will then verify the applicant’s eligibility and notify the hiring program of the outcome. Once approval is given the hiring program will contact the selected candidate and offer the position.

4.   Vacancy has been re-posted: For any number of reasons this vacancy has been re-posted in-house and /or letters resent to outside candidates for another 7 business days

5.  Position has been filled: The hiring program has offered the position to the selected candidate and they have accepted

6. Position will not be filled at this time: The hiring program and/or Human Resources has decided not to complete the hiring process.
