The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is working on a number of exciting initiatives. The Roadmap to Resilience project, funded through a competitive grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Energy, involved work with Rolla, St. James and Stockton to plan for resilience and develop a toolkit for other small- and medium-sized communities. The department has also undertaken a stakeholder-driven Missouri State Energy Planning (MoSEP) process. Currently, the department is working to save taxpayers money and reduce energy use by collaborating on energy efficiency upgrades in state facilities, as well as to lead efforts on energy workforce development, energy education, and energy literacy.
