A proposed amendment to Code of State Regulations 10 CSR 23-3.110 Plugging of Water Wells, is now available for public review and comment until May 30, 2024. All comments must be received or postmarked by 5 p.m. The department will hold a public hearing about the proposed amendment on May 31, 2024. Please follow the link below for more information.

The purpose of this proposed rule amendment is to remove unnecessary and overly burdensome requirements regarding inactive wells, remove duplicate and outdated figures, improve rule clarity and add requirements for plugging public water supply wells. The rulemaking is necessary to improve rule understanding and requirements for plugging public water system wells are not present in 10 CSR 23-3.110.
